Parts Sales Technician
Reports To: Parts Manager

Rose Farm Supply needs to add experienced Parts Sales Experts to our team! As a Parts Sales Technician, you will be at the forefront of enhancing the lives of the hard-working people we serve by providing access to a complete line of leading support services.
We are always looking to continually raise the standard in customer partnerships, so as a Parts Sales Technician, you will be responsible for assisting mechanics in determining parts requirements, ensuring all parts issues are handled expeditiously and providing order processing services. This job role is made up of the following areas:
- Service Department Parts Sales
- Service Department Parts Order Processing
- Warehousing functions – picking, packing, and shipping
- Delivery and pickup of parts to service technicians
Also, you will be expected to uphold the following:
- Operated within all parts policies and procedures of the company
- Maintains high personal morale
- Maintains excellent customer relations
- Attains short and long term objectives
- Operates safely and follows all safety guidelines
Duties:
Service Department Parts Sales
- Knowledgeable on the parts systems for all manufacturers represented by the dealership
- Knowledgeable on all features and benefits of all parts commodities sold
- Knowledgeable about selling and on successful selling techniques
- Able to deal with technicians in a professional manner
- Knowledgeable of the stressful environment in which technicians operate
- Assures that all objectives are achievable and quantitatively measurable
Work Order Parts Order Processing
- Knowledgeable on all computer systems used within the parts department
- Knowledgeable on all parts libraries available and their uses and processes
- Able to find and maintain all service work order parts records through the system
- Able to determine pricing for all parts according to company policies
- Able to locate all parts required to satisfy customer needs
Selling
- Knowledgeable in all selling techniques
- Able to perform sales with technicians in a professional manner
- Familiarity with the telephone sales and conveying a positive manner on the phone
- Disciplined in follow up to determine technician’s satisfaction on orders placed and processed by the parts department
Service Parts Counter
- Maintains a clean and professional looking work area for service department parts sales
- Able to present, with strong knowledge on features and benefits, parts to technicians
- Possesses professional selling techniques
- Operates as a facilitator for technicians in finding what they are looking for
- Monitors technician’s ordering patterns to maximize the effectiveness of the service parts sales support function.
Job Position Control Issues
- Continually monitors technician’s activities to achieve maximum satisfaction and performance
- Responsible for maintaining information current on machine products, parts products, and systems
- Conducts daily tracking of outstanding technician’s parts orders and shipments
Standards of Performance
- Can operate all products and models of equipment represented by the dealership
- Has good understanding of all machine systems
- Can use all company parts computer systems
- Can use all parts reference materials
- Can measure wear patterns
- Can assist with “problem determinations” to diagnose additional problems
- Can instruct at parts product training meetings
- Completes all paperwork required for jobs
- Maintains a clean workplace
- Maintains and cares for all tools/equipment
- Works safely and uses safe techniques
- Maintains a professional and courteous business manner
- Performs as directed by the parts management
Qualifications
The individual in this position should be personable, a problem solver, ethical, intelligent and have a sales aptitude. This individual needs to be able to adapt to all of the forces around them – customers, suppliers, department employees, co-workers and manufacturers employees.
Education/Training/Experience
A bachelor’s degree, technical degree, or equivalent experience in parts sales in a retail environment and/or mechanical repairs.
General Skill Requisites
- Strong selling skills
- Good communication skills
- Excellent customer relations skills
- Good computer and systems knowledge
Specific Skill Requisites
- A good working knowledge of sales techniques and methodologies
- Solid equipment and parts knowledge
- Sales training in related fields
- Product knowledge including features and benefits knowledge on all commodities sold
- A solid understanding of pricing principles and discounting effects
